It's the cuteness overloaded! OK, seriously, the idea came to me, when one of my watchers told me that this: batri.deviantart.com/art/Let-s… reminds him of “Rescue Rangers”. And then I thought – hey, those creatures in my drawings were really in a kind of team (although not a “rescue” one) – Why have I never drawn them altogether?! So I did it now – and here they are!

This picture is very new, but the story behind it – is one I imagined almost 10 years ago. It was always full of gaps and I don't remember many details of the original idea, but I certainly remember my OC-s .

_{I repeat – this story is really old, it's a past and I'm not going back to it. I probably will draw those creatures from time to time (especially the dragon) – but I'm not going back to creating the whole “Sarians” story. I was about 16 years old back then, after that (in the high school and my studies) I was creating “winged people” story ( batri.deviantart.com/gallery/2… ) and right now - I’m 24 and I’m imagining a “vampire story” ( batri.deviantart.com/gallery/2… ) (and meanwhile I’m sometimes creating some other short stories with 2 or 3 characters, e.g centaurs, wolfs etc. – that you can find in my Gallery “Stories untold” batri.deviantart.com/gallery/2… )}

<sub>And now (I know that nobody is going to read that anyway, but I want to write it and you won't stop me) – some details about characters and their story:

SARIA – a legendary land of “flying cats”. Some cats believe in it, most think it's just a fairy tale, the way that Sarians are supposed to be is almost like Elves among people.

Sarian cats can't fly literally – but they are more wise, intelligent and skilled than normal cats. They also don't kill other animals just for fun. Their hair is short and usually grey without a single spot.

MAIRI – a girl (cat-girl of course) of a great faith and courage… [Whatever, she is just a main character, and my main characters were usually amazingly boring – you know, classic “Mary-Sue-ism” ] (You could see her in my other drawings: batri.deviantart.com/art/Cat-o… or batri.deviantart.com/art/Oh-no… )

She was an orphan found by some forest cats and she grown among them (You could see Mairi with her half-brothers here: batri.deviantart.com/art/Kitte… ). All cats living in this forest were multicolored but Mairi was the only one that was just gray, without a single spot on her body. She was always a bit different from cats around. They didn't understand her, didn't know why she keeps dreaming about something more and not just be happy with living in their forest-village.

Mairi once heard a fairy-tale about Saria and decided to find it. She hoped that she'll find there someone “weird” like her. So one day she ran away from home and begun her journey.

One of the very few things she took with her was a little bird-shaped necklace. She was find with it as a little child (kitty-child). She didn't know that it was really a hint to find a legendary land… [this idea is similar in “The Mysterious Cities of Gold” series, I loved this anime in my childhood ]

ONKU – young archer, works as one of guardians protecting their forest from enemies (like aggressive wolfs, dogs etc.). He first met Mairi when he was injured and hiding in a cave from dogs chasing him. Onku was gray and “different from others around” just like her, and was also looking for a Saria land.

He and Mairi naturally became a couple – although their love was rather platonic… [I was really a kid imagining this story and so were my characters. I was keen in imagining “fantasy stories” and not true love stories] .

In the picture Onku has a stone (it should be blue) hanging on his neck. It is a magic thing allowing his owner to see more than others (like spirits) and also a hint to find Saria (kind of a map).

OKI – Onku's younger brother. Works as a rat-hunter in a wine cellar.

You can see that he is a nice, merry and cute boy. But in eyes of rats he hunts – this is the face of death…

NEGARU – “white flash” [he doesn't let anyone short this name as “Neg” or “Negr” cause it means nothing], close friend of Onku, a bit older than him. He is like a doctor among his friends and many time cured their wounds.

He grown as a human pet for years (he haven't even met any other talking cat before Onku) and so is the only one understanding human language.

ZEB – young cat, a talented herbalist wandering alone (before he met and joined Mairi and her friends). He is a Sarian, although he is tabby (many “normal” cats were prejudiced against tabbies in that world).

As for him being a herbalist: Many cats were thinking that Zeb is a magician or a witch. Herbs could do everything in his hands (paws): cure diseases and wounds, kill pain, hypnotize, make someone sleep… Some were even explosive (using them Zeb once helped some “poor trapped lizard” to get out of its cage. That lizard was really a dragon, Naghor).

His [and mine] favorite wort is “herb that makes you laugh”. It was really a powerful and effective weapon – when one was chased by some enemy (usually wolf or dog) – he can through a “making laugh” powder, and have a time to run, when his enemy was literally “rolling over the floor laughing”. It could also be used to make “tea that makes you happy” to drink with friends.

Zeb was the only one of that “team” that actually was in Saria and remembered it.

NAGHOR – a silver dragon. A real one!!!  Although he’s not well seen in this pic…

His life is another story [maybe I'll draw something to show and tell you more about it; still, you can find some more pictures with him here batri.deviantart.com/gallery/2… ]. Short: he was trapped in a silver cage as a part of some king's treasure for few centuries (!!!) and, being that tiny, he couldn't grow bigger, neither get out of his trap. He had no hope of escaping from there ever – until one day, when some tabby cat incidentally found him. It was Zeb, who thought, that Naghor is a trapped lizard and set him free by destroying the cage.

Naghor was a proud, wise, intelligent and very old person. And he decided to follow and help the cat that helped him (actually saving his life). He might even die for Zeb’s good – and he almost did one day…

ARK – Onku's goat, his palfrey and friend. (Cats like Onku were goat riders, like the one here: batri.deviantart.com/art/Goat-… ). For unknown reason he's sometimes called a “Suicider”…

Don't be fooled by his angry face in this picture – Ark is really a good friend and companion, ready to risk his life for Onku.

He can't talk in “traditional” way.

PIKA – [this word in Polish means “sting, lance, spear”] a young goat originally belonging to some human. One day she saw Mairi walking by and just decided to follow her.

Mairi did not ride on her new friend (she never heard about goat riders actually), only sometimes used her as a help in carrying baggage (not a huge one).

Pika can't talk.

She and Ark became a couple… and that's all about it

MIKIN – a fox. Works as a professional egg thief.

I don't actually remember why he joined these cats :/ For a long time he could live in peace close to wolfs, because he gives them a lot of eggs he steal. But soon they begun to treat him almost like a slave and stop paying for eggs he brought. So I think that was a reason he had to leave his home and then to join a group of cats (who appreciate his talent in stealing human things…).</sub>
